Volunteer

Volunteers don't necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.

Elizabeth Andrew

Volunteers are key to the operations and success of The Refuge.  Volunteers cook meals, provide support to the youth, sit on the board of directors, assist with special events and much more.  There are many ways that you can volunteer your time to serving Jesus Christ at The Refuge.

Volunteer Interview Process

All volunteers must submit a current and valid police criminal record check and undergo a personal interview with our Operations Manager.

Apply to Volunteer at The Refuge:

To volunteer at The Refuge on a regular basis, we ask that you commit to at least a three month period. Volunteers often begin in the kitchen and helping to clean the centre as we get to know you. You will be carefully and thoughtfully placed according to our needs and your gifts and talents.

If you are interested in volunteering at The Refuge, please visit the webpage of the program that most interests you and click on the link [volunteer for this program], or see our current needs list below.  Once you complete the required information we will be in touch with you.

Apply to Volunteer at Special Events:

Please visit our Special Events to find out what we do. We need chefs/cooks, event planning, photographers, videographers, decorations, baking, speakers, parking attendants, greeters, artists, musicians, actors, traffic marshals... just to name a few roles! If you would like to volunteer at a special event, contact our Director of Development.

Special Skills Volunteers:

Do you have a special skill that could help The Refuge?
