STREET HEAT

Street Heat was created with the awareness that the youth with whom The Refuge works holds a lot of anger ... anger at parents ... anger at authority ... anger at society ... anger at themselves.

Street Heat is an anger management program where youth can come in a small group session to openly talk about their anger, situations that made them angry and a proper response to these situations and feelings. Often, the openness of one youth can significantly impact or help another who may be dealing with similar issues or feelings. The goal is that the youth may understand the roots of their anger and how to deal with the anger that engulfs them.
